SUPERIOR MATERIALS
It's the details that matter. Everything that goes into a pair of Kumfs has been sourced because of its quality.
From the softest leather to Poron® memory cushioning, from Drilex® linings right down to the quality thread and super strong elastic; each component is rigorously tested so we use only the best.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Highly skilled teams create each pair of Kumfs; this is why the company's greatest asset is its people.
While world-class technology is used, shoemaking still relies heavily on the workmanship of skilled people. During the entire production process at least 10 people have a hand in making your 'hand made' shoes.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
At each step in the production process, checking for quality is each person's responsibility. This ensures many highly skilled people will check and approve your shoes before they get into the box, and ultimately onto your feet.
EXTENSIVE TESTING
All materials and components used in making our shoes, and the finished shoes themselves, are rigorously tested in our in-house testing laboratory.
As an example, we put our leather through a rigorous process of 13 different tests to ensure it's super soft and yet tough enough to wear well.
Finished shoes are tested for their behaviour during wear, such as creasing, creation of pressure points inside the shoe and sole bond. A shoe is clamped into the Shoe Flexer and put through 500,000 flexes - a 60-hour test that's equivalent to two years walking life of the shoe.
New Kumfs styles are also prototyped and extensively fit trialled before getting the go ahead.
